Today was mainly a travel day that started with a 4:30 Uber pick-up appointment. We were worried as this was our first Uber reservation, but we had nothing to worry about, our driver was actually early. When our driver dropped us off, she gifted us with a small Jesus figurine. We have named him Uber Jesus and decided to show him around Japan. Expect a few appearances throughout the blog.

The entire trip was very uneventful, though long. The flight from Charlotte to Dallas was right on time and not too long. Our arrival in Dallas was just a few gates away from our departure. The flight to Tokyo was a grueling 13 hours where we did our best to entertain ourselves and try to get a little bit of sleep.

Arrival in Japan was super efficient and we may it through customs and immigration with very little wait. As soon as we exited customs our transfer driver was just on the other side of the door. We were then off for an hour long ride to the hotel.

Once we arrived at the hotel we relaxed a little before heading next door to the 7-11 to try some of their famous sandwiches. At that point, it was time for an early night in hopes of being right on schedule first thing in the morning.
