We took a flight from Istanbul to Ankara this morning, then took a private bus to Goreme, our base for exploring Cappadocia. Upon arrival in Goreme, the group went to a Turkish Bath (Hamam) which is a traditional bathing ritual that combines a hot steam session, intense exfoliation, and a soapy massage. You lie down on a marble slab while an attendant vigorously exfoliates your entire body using a textured mitten called a kese.
Then we went to our hotel, a beautiful restored historic mansion. Our room was carved out of a cave.

This evening we went to dinner and Turkish performance at a cave restaurant.
