Chefchaouen Day 1
Ferry to Tangier
Today was another mainly travel day. We headed out bright and early to begin our 2 hour long bus trip to the ferry from Europe to Africa. The ferry was super easy and was only a 45 minute trip. We had a new guide for our Africa portion of the trip and he met us as soon as we made it through passport control. Of course Matt was stopped for extra scrutiny. They thought he was carrying a drone.
We arrived in Tangier and stopped for lunch shortly after arriving. For some reason, our guide decided we should try Lebanese food as our first African meal 🤷♂️. We had a short walk through Tangier with a private local guide.
Chefchaouen
After leaving Tangier, we had another 2 hours before we arrived in Chefchaouen. Good for you if you can pronounce that name. Our hotel was nice, quirky, and is located just outside of the center of the Medina. After dropping our bags in our room and taking a few minutes to rest, we headed out for an orientational walk with our guide and then dinner with the group.
