Limited Time in Oaxaca
Street Art
We had limited time in Oaxaca today so we grabbed a quick breakfast in the hotel and then decided to visit a few of the more quirky neighborhoods. We started out in the wrong place initially due to the maps app taking us to the wrong place. It worked out okay in the end because we stumbled across a few art markets where we were able to pick up a few nice prints and other pieces of art. We did finally get to the neighborhood we were looking for and explored the small streets that were filled with street art.

Tortillas & Rugs
In the afternoon we headed a short distance out of town for a demonstration on how to make tortillas and visit a local family that weaves rugs. We were able to try and make tortillas and then enjoyed soup, meats, and some mezcal experiments with our homemade tortillas. After a quick bite to eat, we were shown a quick demonstration of the rug making process using natural dyes and a hand weaver.

Drinks & Tacos
As our last outing as a group, our tour guide took us to a nice bar for a couple of drinks and tacos. It was a place we wanted to visit while we were in Oaxaca, but did not have time to visit earlier. It also happened to be a place featured on the Netflix show, Somebody Feed Phil. The drinks were good, but the conversation was better.
